Mother and Son: The Respect Effect by Emerson Eggerichs

PULL UP A CHAIR.

THERE'S ROOM AT THIS TABLE.

Let's be honest. Raising boys can be wonderful, hilarious, humbling, and occasionally leave you wondering if anyone heard a single word you just said.

One minute, you're having what feels like a meaningful conversation. The next, you're wondering how the shoes are still in the middle of the floor, why everyone is suddenly starving, and whether your very important life lesson made it past the next snack.

We're learning, too.

Boy Mom Book Club is a place for women who want to better understand the boys in their lives, grow in how they love them, and learn from women walking through different seasons of the journey.

Not because we have all the answers. Because we know there's value in asking better questions, sharing what we're learning, and figuring out what to do with it in real life.

No shame. Room to grow. Grace for the journey.

You don't have to have it all figured out to pull up a chair.

WHO IS BOY MOM BOOK CLUB?

The short answer? Women who want to love the boys in their lives well.

You might be:

  • A mom raising little boys right now.

  • A mom navigating the teenage years.

  • A mom of grown sons, still learning what it means to love them through a new season.

  • A grandma, aunt, sister, friend, teacher, coach, or mentor.

  • A woman who wants to better understand boys and encourage the men they're becoming.

I'm a boy mom, thus the title born, and this is the lens I'm learning to see motherhood through. But you don't have to be a boy mom—or even a mom—to belong here.

Different generations bring different experiences. Different families bring different perspectives. And sometimes, the conversation we need most is the one we didn't know we needed to have.

We're here to learn from one another, ask honest questions, share real-life experiences, and put what we're learning into practice.

Because loving boys well is worth learning about together.

READ. REFLECT. RAISE.

This isn't just about finishing a book. It's about taking what we read and asking how it might shape the way we love, lead, listen, and respond.

READ.

Each series centers on a book that gives us something meaningful to explore. We'll break the reading into manageable weekly portions so we can make progress without turning our nightstand into a guilt collection.

Read every page? Wonderful.

Still catching up? You're welcome here, too.

REFLECT.

Through our free weekly podcast and Instagram conversations, we'll explore the ideas, ask questions, share perspectives, and connect the dots to real life.

What resonates? What challenges us? What might we see differently? And what do we do when the idea sounds great on paper but real life has other plans?

That's where the conversation gets good.

RAISE.

Knowledge is helpful. Application is where growth begins.

We'll talk through practical ways to respond, encourage one another, and keep learning how to love the boys in our lives well.

Not perfectly. Intentionally.

Because we don't have time to mess around—we're walking in our purpose.

THE PODCAST

Honest conversations for the journey of raising boys.

The Boy Mom Book Club podcast is where we bring the books to life.

Each week, we'll explore ideas from our current read, reflect on what we're learning, and talk about how those ideas meet the beautiful, messy, hilarious reality of loving boys.

Expect thoughtful questions, real-life stories, practical takeaways, and a little humor along the way. We'll learn from books, different generations, and the experiences of women who have walked this road before us.

And as the club grows, I hope to welcome authors, physicians, pastors, counselors, coaches, and other women who have wisdom to share.

You don't need to have finished the reading before you listen. You don't need to have the perfect story to contribute.

Come curious. Leave encouraged. Keep growing.

OUR FIRST BOOK

Mother and Son: The Respect Effect

By Emerson Eggerichs

Our first Boy Mom Book Club series officially begins October 19, 2026.

We're starting with a book that invites us to think more deeply about the mother-son relationship and the ways we communicate, connect, and love.

Over six weeks, we'll read and reflect together, connect through the free weekly podcast, and use Instagram to share questions, experiences, and takeaways.

Here's the plan:

NOW THROUGH OCTOBER 18 — GET READY

Grab your copy of the book and get ready to read with us. Follow along on Instagram and join the email list so you don't miss updates.

WEEK 1–5 — READ, REFLECT, AND DISCUSS

Each week, we'll focus on a portion of the book, explore key ideas through the podcast, and continue the conversation on Instagram. We'll consider real-life situations and practical ways to put what we're learning into practice.

WEEK 6 — REFLECT AND LOOK AHEAD

We'll look back at the full book, share what we've learned, reflect on what we want to carry forward, and look ahead to our next read.

You can participate at your own pace. You can ask questions, share a reflection, or simply listen and learn.

The goal isn't to race through a reading list. It's to make space for meaningful growth.

[GET READY FOR THE FIRST BOOK]

WANT TO GO A LITTLE DEEPER?

Some of us love a few good discussion questions. Others want a little more structure. And some of us want to explore how the themes we're reading about connect with Scripture.

As the series unfolds, optional digital resources will be available for purchase, including reading and reflection materials and a Bible study bundle for women who want to explore the themes through Scripture.

These resources are designed to support your experience—not create another requirement.

You can participate in the book club without purchasing anything beyond your book.

The conversation is free. Your seat at the table is free. You're welcome here.

MEET VICTORIA

Just a boy mom, learning as I go.

I'm Victoria—a boy mom, physical therapist, and lifelong learner.

My work as a physical therapist has taught me to appreciate the process of growth. Progress rarely happens all at once. It takes curiosity, consistency, a willingness to learn, and the humility to adjust when something isn't working.

Motherhood has given me plenty of opportunities to practice those same lessons.

I'm learning that loving a boy well means more than wanting the best for him. It means continuing to learn how to connect with him, guide him, encourage him, and help him grow through every season.

My Christian faith is an important part of how I approach that journey. I believe there's wisdom in God's Word, value in learning from one another, and grace for the days when we have more questions than answers.

I started Boy Mom Book Club because I wanted a place where women could bring those questions, explore meaningful books, have honest conversations, and encourage one another along the way.

I'm not here because I've figured it all out.

I'm here because I believe we grow when we keep showing up, keep learning, and keep loving.

I'm glad you're here.

YOUR STORIES BELONG HERE, TOO.

The best conversations aren't one-sided.

As we read, listen, and reflect together, there will be opportunities to share what you're navigating, what you're learning, the questions you're asking, and the topics you'd love us to explore.

Maybe you've found something that works in your family. Maybe you're in the middle of a season that has you rethinking everything. Maybe you simply want to hear how another woman has approached a similar challenge.

There's room for all of that.

We won't all agree on every detail. We won't all be in the same season. But we can listen, learn, offer perspective, and encourage one another to keep growing.

Come ready to learn. Come ready to listen. Come as you are.

Pull up a chair. There's room at this table.
